Kick-off meeting of Space Carbon project

The kick off meeting of project SpaceCarbon was held in INEGI facilities, located in Porto on the 23rd and 24th of January 2018.

2^nd General Assembly meeting

The 2^nd General Assembly meeting was held in Athens on the 27th and 28th of September 2018.
During the meeting a visit to NTUA’s facilities took place.

3^rd General Assembly meeting

The 3^rd General Assembly meeting was held in Vienna on the 14th and 15th of February 2019. A visit to “Aerospace and Advanced Composites GmbH” premises took place during the meeting.

4^th General Assembly meeting

The 4^th General Assembly meeting was held in Lisboa on the 4th and 5th of July 2019. A visit to “SGL CARBON” pilot line took place during the meeting.

1^st SpaceCarbon’s workshop

The 1^st SpaceCarbon’s workshop took place in the framework of 9th EASN International Conference on “Innovation in Aviation & Space”. During the workshop an overview of the project and main achievements were presented.

5^th General Assembly meeting

The 5^th General Assembly meeting was held in Rome on the 16th and 17th of January 2020. A visit to "AVIO" facilities took place where the participants had the chance to see prepregs development at pilot scale and launcher design and manufacturing processes.

6^th General Assembly meeting

The 6^th General Assembly meeting was held on-line on the 9th of July 2020. SpaceCarbon's partners discussed the progress and how to minimize covid-19 impact on project's activities.

Project Final Conference

The Project Final Conference was held in Porto at Alfandega venue on the 7th of June 2022. The SpaceCarbon conference proclaimed knowledge and shared new ideas among academic scientists, researchers, engineers, and other stakeholders from the research area of carbon fibers and composite materials in Space. SpaceCarbon final results were presented, as well as keynote speeches took place from experts in the field, policymakers, EC, ESA, EDA, national agencies, relevant institutions, associations, and industrial end-users. Two roundtable discussions were conducted with the invited experts.

2nd SpaceCarbon's Workshop

The Project 2nd Workshop was held in Porto at Alfandega venue on the 8th of June 2022. The SpaceCarbon seminar sessions focused on European Carbon Fibres and Pre-Impregnated Materials for Space Applications, combining foundamentals and project results presentation in the fields of advanced manufacturing technologies of carbon fibers and prepregs for space application, advanced characterization, and demonstrators design.

Project Final meeting

The Project Final meeting was held in Porto on the 9th of June 2022. A visit to "INEGI" facilities took place where the participants had the chance to see prepregs development and other advanced manufacturing processes developed within SpaceCarbon.
